You've Come a Long Way Baby

LOL, my first polymer sculpture!! A piece I made for my sister about 15 years ago and she still has it! Funny how my Stubby kids ended up with the same hands 15 years later.

I remember the first paper mache dolls so many years ago...they were beautiful...plump sexy ladies!

LOL Colleen...
I love your dolls then and I love your dolls now! A doll artist is always a doll artist...

Aren't sisters great? My sister still has my first 'attempt' (and I use that term loosely) at dollmaking. I think it's hideous now but she loves it and would never part with it!

We look at our own work with such critical eyes, and don't see it the way others do.

Hooray for sentimental sisters!

I love it when people share their first pieces. I think it can be great help to those just starting out to see that not everyone just picks up clay and instantly know everything. I have the first piece I ever painted in oils. and my first piece painted on china. I always bring them out when I teach to show that yeah it took a lot of practice and a few not-as-good pieces to get it where I am happy. Thank you for sharing this. Love your work.
