I've been playing with paint. I've never really felt comfortable with paint but to my good fortune my sisters new roommate is a art teacher and has been giving NoraLeigh and I some lessons. You know what...it's great fun!
NoraLeigh and I have been painting fools. Shes actually really good, she amazes me all the time with her creativity. It's a beautiful thing to see your daughter engrossed in creating. I worry though as I do see that sort of frenzy in her eye wanting to do more and more:) I know this all to well, creating is just such a rewarding experience and I'm glad shes learning this a such a young age.
So these are some of the new little paintings I'm offering in my Shop
and below is one of NoraLeigh's paintings. You think shes a bit inspired by her momma? It's quite flattering to say the least!

I love your dolls, just came across them on Etsy, hope to get one for myself soon! Renata
Really nice, Colleen. I bet NaNa will want one of those paintings for Christmas. I know how excited she is about coming to New Orleans.
Colleen:
I absolutely adore your dolls and your paintings have the same feeling. I've noticed that the eyes on the paintings look almost like jewels. Fabulous highlights!
I love that your daughter is painting along with you. It will be interesting to see her develop her style as she gets older.
I hope you don't mind....I put a link to your blog on mine. It makes it so easy for me to just "click" over here and see all your new work.

Colleen, I have been itching to get back to painting - I don't think I have painted an actual pic for over ten years. For your first
attempt, these are fabulous! Did you use interference paint on the eyes? They look great!
This post caught my eye. Your dolls are wonderful and your daughter seems to be just as talented as you.
Thanks so much ladies and Gerushia of course I don't mind for the..I'm flattered and thank you!!
I used watercolor pencils, pastels and ink on these. There is white acrylic as a base and when I kept swirling the paint around in the eye area it just created a real glassy look?? Quite frankly I have no idea how that happened:)
You're a natural xoxo :)
WOW Loopy!!! These are awesome:) Make more!!

It's funny, I made dolls myself, first, without ever painting anything until about a year ago. I didn't think I could really paint either but it actually came quite easy to me. It's nice to be able to go back and forth between both now. Have yourself some fun! Go with the flow!
A girl with many talents...I agree you are a natural and everything you do is precious! Have fun with the paint and you and your family have a wonderful and safe Holiday Season!
Cheers
