Susie's Best Loved Doll

It's kind of funny that when I was a young girl Idid not play with dolls and as an adult I play with dolls everyday. I did have a Raggedy Ann doll (and still do) that sat on my bed but she really was just a decoration and not a toy.

Though I didn't play with dolls my very favorite book as a child was a book about dolls called The Best Loved Doll. I must have read this book at least 30 times. It was a great little story about a girls dolls and how they all had individual characteristics that they were sure made them each Jennifer's (the dolls owner) favorite doll. If you've never read it I do recommend you do so.

This little story has inspired my next series of dolls called Susies Best Loved Doll. Each of these dolls, like the original story believe they are Susies favorite doll and why not, as each doll does have something very special about her.

Ya know, I never played with dolls either! My sister and all the neighborhood girls had "baby" dolls and I carried around my "dog" ragdoll....some things never change!

How fabulous to have found you and your work when you've got a post about your 'Susie' dolls. Your work is stunning and I really enjoyed reading your piece on QYDJ. I look forward to learning more about you... I was one of those girls with way too many dolls and I played with them all - and still have three favourites. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Suzy ;)
