Oh my I have really neglected my poor blog of late. Not without good reason as I have been extremely busy making dollies for the holiday season.
But for the last couple of days I've taken some time out to make a very special doll for a very special girl. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I have never made a doll for my nine year old daughter, NoraLeigh. It's only been lately that she even seemed interested in my dolls and I decided it was time that she have one of her own.
She gave me a few specifics, like color and dress style and of course the doll needed to be a happy doll. Here is the little gal I've come up with. She doesn't have a name yet because of course that will be up to NoraLeigh. The doll sits and stands and is totally pose-able so that she can be interacted with.
I will be giving NoraLeigh this doll this evening and I'm so excited to see her response. I hope that she will be a friend and companion to my dear daughter for years to come.

I love the doll and I think it's great that your daughter will have a treasure made by you! Last year we started a new tradition that we will exchange handmade gifts, one per person, along with all of the commercial crap they get as well. My oldest threatens to beat her siblings if they even think about breathing on the doll I made for her. Cracks me up!
She is lovely and I bet your daughter will love her!
what? no skulls on her, lol?
She is a lovely doll, very pretty, and still recognizable as yours. Your daughter will be so thrilled! Let us know how it goes, I'm nosey:-D
What a sweet face, Colleen. I love this doll! Can't wait to see what you come up with this year for the TDP...
She absolutely perfect for Nora!
I think it even looks a bit like her.
Please share her excitement when she sees it.
I think she's one of my favorites!

That is great you made something specifically for her. I think my daughter's got stuck with my cast off no-sells, but now I see I need to get to work! Great doll. Love her. You are such an inspiration.
I love the story behind this doll and it's one of my favorites.
She is so cute, your daughter will love her

Thanks everyone for your comments!! NoraLeigh loved the doll.
This must have been a big step for you. I like how this doll is still totally recognizable as Loopy Boopy even though it is a bit more...what's the word?....cheerful!
Great job, Mom!
Colleen, she is perfect!!! Your daughter is going to love her!
*hugs*
She is adorable, and you do "sweet" really well!
