Adelaide Brule had lived at 7717 St. Charles Ave. but only briefly. Her mother was a maid in the home but after her affair with the gentlemen of the house and the ensuing baby, her half sister Felicia, you can read about Felicia here http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=14621292 Adelaide and her mother were sent away. They now lived down in the 9th ward in a shabby shotgun. Adelaide dreamed of living in the home again. She would spend afternoons across the street from the home, hiding behind the big oak trees gazing and dreaming of living in it's big rooms and lavish decor. One day she could no longer help herself and approached the house, the lady of the house flew in a rage when she saw Adelaide and chased her with a rolling pin. Adelaide fell off the big porch and broke her neck fleeing from the scorned woman. She is buried in cemetery No. 1 at Prytania and Washington.

LOoove her!...and her bloomers:)
What a fab outfit!! I love bloomers and corsets too, and I would wear vintage slips till they fell apart. It is a good thing I sew, because I would hate to wear that crap in the stores!
My mother always said to me," it is Halloween everyday!"
not only would I love to have a pair of bloomers just like that, but that SHIRT, too!! what a little well dressed beauty.
